As the autumn nights get darker, you may find your mood taking a bit of a nose dive. Don’t be alarmed though, it happens to most of us. Whilst it probably won’t be too severe, you may find yourself feeling a bit more grumpy and lethargic. There are many tips out there to help put you back into a good mood.
Pretty much the most simple and straightforward way to boost your mood. It might sound silly, but getting a good nights sleep will help make you feel better the day after. There is a balance though, as if you sleep too much, you might find it having a negative effect on your energy levels. Get into a sleep routine, and stick to it.
If you’re struggling to get a proper night sleep – why not try some pillow spray? The soothing smell helps to send you off into a deep slumber.
Do you remember the episode of Friends where Phoebe and Rachel run through the park? As Phoebe asked: “didn’t you ever run so fast you thought your legs were gonna fall off?”. We ask the same to you. Exercising actually releases feel-good endorphins, so if you’re feeling a bit down, get up and move. We know it can get a bit boring, so as referenced earlier, run like Phoebe.

This one is a little bit different and will definitely take some commitment. Taking up Yoga and Meditation can make you feel better in the short-term, as well as over time. Research shows that regular mindfulness exercises can actually help your brain promote a sense of well-being. You don’t have to go to an hour long class, there are many online classes available so you can practice from the comfort of your own home.
A little bit of an unusual suggestion, but definitely a project to consider. We know that if a room is feeling a bit dull, all it needs is a lick of paint to lighten it up. Ideally you want to bring in spring and summer colours as studies show they help brighten the mood the most. If this isn’t feasible, try giving your room some small upgrades to brighten up the space.

Okay guys… This is probably our most favourite tip of all time. Eat more chocolate! There is actually a reason why we crave chocolate when we’re feeling a bit down. Chocolate helps your body to release mood-boosting serotonin, which makes you feel happier! We’re sure everyone can relate to this – even the smell of chocolate makes us happier.
If all else fails, we know that a sure way to get us in a good mood is to sing in the shower! Or even better – sing on the drive into work.
