Gym Bag Grooming Essentials

How many of you don’t have grooming products in your gym bag? It may be the last thing you want to do after a workout, but trust us, you need the essentials. You can keep it as simple as you want, keeping your products to a minimum will get the job done. Some grooming steps shouldn’t be forgotten about after the gym, thankfully we’ve taken the guess work out of the equation and simplified the essentials.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Keep Fresh And Keep Clean.

If you only take one thing away from this post, please let it be this point. You must have a body wash in your gym bag. After a workout, let’s be honest, you won’t smell your best. Did you know that it’s not actually sweat that smells, but the bacteria that thrives off the warm environment? Keeping yourself smelling fresh after the gym should be your number one priority, so wash before the smelly bacteria has time to settle in! We have a huge selection of body washes over at Mankind and I’m sure you’ll find one that you like.

See Suds? You’re Doing It Right!

Your hair becomes an oil trap after working out, don’t forget to have a shampoo in your bag! You could be smart with this one and get a 2-in-1 product. Depending on your hair type, you could either get a shampoo and conditioner combo or opt for a shampoo and body wash. Either way, keep your locks squeaky clean with a good cleansing shampoo.

Don’t Forget: You Need Deodorant!

This speaks for itself. You wouldn’t go on a date without putting on deodorant, so don’t leave it out of your gym bag. We find that the gym is one place that you always bump into people, and you don’t want to be known as the ‘guy who doesn’t wear deodorant’. We would recommend choosing a solid stick deodorant as they tend to last longer and don’t transfer onto clothes as easily.

Rid Your Face Of Oil.

After a workout your skin will be at it’s oilest. It’s important to use a cleanser to ensure you’re not left shiny with clogged pores because this can cause more problems further down the line. Pick a cleanser that has deep cleansing properties, and kick this up a notch by finding one with exfoliating beads in.

Moisturise Before You Go.

If you’ve followed the previous step and given your skin the cleanse it needs, it will no doubt need a moisture boost. Take your daily moisturiser to the gym to make sure your face is left smooth after your workout. Most brands offer travel sizes, which can be useful in keeping your products to a small quantity in your bag.

Pesky Germs? Not With Hand Sanitizer!

Gyms are known for being riddled with germs. Whilst in the gym, most free weights, exercise mats and lockers rooms have high levels of germs.  Having a hand sanitizer helps to prevent the spread of germs further than the gym, and will inevitably help prevent you getting sick.
