I am not a professional but I love taking care of myself. This is something that gets me going and I always choose the best quality quality to help me with it. Mankind provides original products at best price. There is nothing else I could ask for. Get additional benefits by using refferrralllll cccoodee "MANKIND dash RB". Instead of the word dash, use it's numeric sign.
I first used this S.O.S Survival Cream after getting some advice in the duty free department at Gatwick airport. I was just going on holiday and my face was extremely sore. I had used usual e45s and other moisturisers but nothing really kept the redness away. For those who have said this product is too sticky, I think they have not applied correctly as needs to warmed up by rubbing in one hand and then applying with other.Report this review
I would normally say Elemis are one of the best 'Spa level' brands out there, and as such expect to pay a premium, but this product lets them down. It is very sticky and heavy (feels like wearing a face mask.). I have taken to using this as a night cream and using Milk by Michael Kilm Face Moisturizer + Sunscreen SPF15 150ml during the day. I only hope that this Elemis cream doesn't lead to breakouts. I will not be buying this product again and would not recommend.Report this review
This is an excellent product in the opinion of my face. When I first tried it, I had the same 'stick' feelings that others have mentioned - in part becuse I was using too much. This is a product where a little goes a long way, and as well as reducing the quantity I found that a few drops of water on the hand prevents stickyness. 3 or 4 tiny 'rice grain' size blobs of this plus 2 or 3 drops of water in the palm of my hand are sufficient to moisturise my face no matter how dry it is. If I could only have one moisturiser for the rest of my life, it'd be Elemis S.O.S. I should also mention that my skin is quite sensitive and some other products fail to ease razor burn and/or cause spots. This, and in fact all the Elemis men's products I've tried, seem to suit my skin perfectly.Report this review
I generally think that Elemis are a superb company who sell a fantastic range of products for men and women alike. They are up there with the very best in terms of using the finest ingredients available. However, this individual product should be discontinued immediately; it reflects very poorly on their brand name in my opinion. No exaggeration when I say this, but when I applied the S.O.S. Survival Cream - it felt like a can of motor oil was being poured over my face in generous quantities. My face was GLUED to the pillow at night and when I tried to pull my face from it - all I could feel was a 'sticky' sensation. VERY UNPLEASANT! Taking into account the price of this individual product (£39.95) for a measly 50ml tube, ELEMIS should, in my opinion, re-think the formulation altogether or otherwise - discontinue it. To anyone considering purchasing this product, do not take my advice because every person's skin is different and therefore what works for one person, might not necessarily work for another. However, I would advise that you pick up a sample of this product if possible and try it beforehand.Report this review
Its not sticky if you rub it between your hands to thin it out, its a fab product that stays on your skin all day long and your skin feels great, you will look great.Report this review
A really fantastic moisturiser. It really is more like a treatment and it keeps spots away and balances my oily/combination skin. It's more like a gel texture and you need to warm it up in your hand before you put it on but it really does a great job. I'd definitely recommend it!!Report this review
Was a bit wary of this cos of the price and the so-called 'stickiness', but Im glad I gave it a go. Just be careful with the amount you use, warm it thoroughly in your palms beforehand and make sure you apply evenly and you should have no problems. My skin gets dry in winter and this really protects and lasts all day. It evens out your skin as well and really feels like your doing it some good! Perfect for me - I dont use it every day but definitely after shaving and if my skins feeling a little dry. I also use it twice a day for a few days before Ive got a party to go to or something cos it really does make that much of a difference!Report this review
I've only been using this for a few weeks and am very impressed already! It has completely calmed my skin down (mild acne breakout and I had a salicylic peel at my dermatologists office the day before I started using this). My skin is comfortable, has a nice glow, is not greasy and feels hydrated. Yes, the cream is a little "tacky/sticky", but if you only use a small amount (less than one pump - don't depress it all the way), and warm it between your hands for a few seconds by rubbing them together vigourously, then apply it by pressing your hands onto your face before lightly massaging the cream, the stickiness is almost gone. At any rate, it is only sticky for about 20 minutes or so after application and that's because the second ingredient is glycerine! It has a very nice, mild smell of lavender and myrhh, but is more of a herbal smell than floral. It's not noticeable for long. -- update --6 weeks on and still loving this cream! It is without question one of the best moisturisers I've used.Report this review
Yep it aint cheap but it is of a very high quality. Remember chaps that women regularly buy far more expensive moisturisers than this. I think the price point is just right for such quality.Only a tiny tiny amount is needed. Like someone above mentions only depress the pump a little to get an adequate amount. I use this when the weather is bad and I am going to be outdoors a lot. It is highly effective at protecting my skin. It is like a barrier against the elements. Perfect for winter for sportsmen and generally outdoorsy people.Report this review
