After a long, cold winter, spring is finally upon us. Each year, our wardrobes change according to the seasons, but your skin gets forgotten about every time. As the largest organ, it’s important to take care of it, meaning your spring skincare needs to differ from the other months. Otherwise, your pores can become blocked, leaving you with dull, oily skin. The basics still apply, but it’s important to review your product choices to keep your skin in tip top condition.
Switch Your Moisturiser
You wouldn’t wear your winter coat in warmer weather, so why keep your skin trapped under a thick, heavy moisturiser? During the winter, skin becomes dry quickly due to the harsh elements, so a rich moisturiser is needed to provide your skin with extra protection. However, when it warms up, the same moisturiser will make your skin sweat, produce more oil and likely break out. Switching to a Hyaluronic Acid or water-based formula is a good alternative to keep your skin hydrated without overdoing it. Using one containing an SPF is also a good shout to protect you from the stronger UV rays .
