Here at Mankind we see plenty of grooming products, and get plenty of time to try and test them. The best part about this is that we get the opportunity to let you know the ones we really love. This April we’ve decided to round up our favourite products of the month to let you know more about them, what they do, and how to make sure you’re making the most of them.
The mineral rich, absorbent, and healing Hungarian moor mud present in the Moor Cream Cleanser from Omorovicza is what makes it a standout cleanser. It should be a perfect fit for those with sensitive or dry skin due to its gentle formulation, but it has a place in anyone’s routine as a daily cleanser. Its camphor, peppermint and eucalyptus leave the skin feeling revitalised and refreshed, as well as nourished.
To use, simply wash your skin with warm water before applying a pea sized amount to your face, and another to your neck and ears. Gently massage it into your face and leave for 30 seconds to a minute to allow it to penetrate deep into the pores. Wash off with warm water.
If you exfoliate your face regularly, you can use the Moor Cream Cleanser following exfoliation, and it should be used before toning. If you have oilier skin, you may benefit from using it alongside a more aggressive cleanser, either on alternate days, or when your skin needs a mid-day refresh.
The natural exfoliants the Aesop Redemption Body Scrub makes use of is why it makes the list of best male grooming products. Its pumice is natural and non-polluting, while the bamboo stem is totally biodegradable. In the UK, plastic micro-beads used to exfoliate are soon becoming illegal, and for this reason, it’s important to find exfoliating products that avoid the ban.
Used while showering to scrub away dead or dry skin, as well as re-surface the outer layers of the skin, it fits into the routine of any and all skin types, but is particularly useful if you suffer from dry skin or body acne.
You can read more about the benefits of safety razors here. In summary, however, you can achieve a close shave without irritating the skin when you learn to use a safety razor with proper technique. We’re fans of the Jack Black Double Edge Safety Razor in particular due to its extended and weighty handle, which allows for a greater degree of control.
We covered the why we love Goldwell Stylesign Roughman Paste in more detail here, but it’s made it onto our list of best male grooming products this April due to it being a perfect addition to your summer routine.
A re-mouldable hair product a great hold and matte finish, its perfect for relaxed, natural summer looks. Maintaining its hold without clumping together or darkening the hair, it highlights your natural colouring rather than drowning it out.
The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream from Elemis is an intensely hydrating and anti-ageing moisturising gel-cream. Enriched with Padina Pavonica, a Mediterranean sea algae, amongst other amino acid and antioxidant dense ingredients, the moisturiser is soothing, firming, and protective. It’s an all round package and extremely popular. We can’t recommend it enough.
Face masks pick up the slack left by being careless with your routine when in a rush or tired. Used once or twice a week, they add an extra dimension to your grooming regime which elevates your look to another level. The Masque Argile et aux Herbes from Decleor is a mask which is both moisturising and cleansing, which is what makes it so appealing.
To use, cover your whole face in it and leave for around ten minutes, before washing away with warm water. On washing away, you’ll immediately see the benefits. Following this, cleanse, tone, apply and serum and moisturise as you normally would.
