As a man it's almost embarrassing to discuss tinted lip balms. Normally I would use something like Blistex Intensive Moisturiser or a similar balm from Neutrogena - but let's just say I accidentally came across a tinted lip balm of a brand that I need not discuss whose consumer base is largely female with a pink tint. My lips are somewhat darker, and when I tried it, apart from a subtle lustre that comes from using any lip balm, there was no visible tint at all. Tinted lip balms may accentuate an existing colour but don't necessarily add any more except in a subtle way - especially if you have darker or ethnic lips. Since almost all of these things are marketed at women it's nice to have something tinted marketed for men as well as women.
I would use this product with confidence knowing that it may highlight a natural colour without adding anything obvious. An experiment with a white, ceramic mug revealed that a barely visible, muddy trace may be left behind on the cup, nothing more (if you're sensitive about these things). As a user of lip balms, this may be regarded as a subtle, cosmetic as well as a moisturiser, especially in winter.
So when you need a confidence boost or are needing that little extra and feeling adventurous, I welcome these unisex products and would consider adding this to my very small collection of toiletries for home and travel. It's well packaged and has a touch of the exotic about it.
