For men who want to ensure their razors shave better and last longer. This sharpener is a small silicone plate that within the a few seconds sharpens razor blades, making them as good as new. Just a few strokes on the RazorPit are enough to extend the life of blades for up to 150 shaves. It removes soap coverings, skin and hair that sticks to the cutter blade and makes them dull. RazorPit is imperishable and by extending the razor blades life, you can do your bit for the environment and save yourself money because you do not need to throw them away as often.

RazorPit Razor Blade Sharpener
To clean your razor, apply a layer of shaving foam on the horizontal surface. Then press the blade of the razor itself down onto the soft surface. This must be done with a constant pressure onto the silicone-surface. Then you push the razor against the conventional shaving direction while maintaining the pressure on the silicone-surface. This will ensure contact between the mat and the blades, thereby cleansing the dirt and residue of the surface. Push the razor over the mat 3 to 4 times. Rinse both Razorpit and razor under running water, and place the razor in the Razorpit, blade-side up.
This quick and easy procedure will with ease and elegantly remove the dirt, residue and particles left on the blade after a shave, and all without damaging the blade itself.
Notes:
The best result will be reached, when the soft surface of your Razorpit is completely dry before the shaving-foam or gel is applied. If a gel is used as opposed to foam, this must be massaged into a foam before commencing the cleaning process, since the gel otherwise can be troublesome out through the blades of the razor. To achieve further good results you should use Razorpit after each shave and when finished shaving place the blade upwards in the razorpit. For even more optimum results you should use Razorpit on a new blade.

Not quite as advertised
"Does it sharpen blades? Not really a little more research shows it cleans them. A dirty blade is still as sharp but is less efficient so a clean one is "sharper". Anyway, a nice clean blade, a better shave... or rather nice clean blades with exposed plastic where the soothing strips (or whatever they call them) have been worn away scraping against your face. I shave my head as well as chin so this device was supposed to save me a fortune, sadly I get maybe 3/4 more shaves with a blade before the disposable design makes it too uncomfortable to use. A fault of the product? No, but then they must know this is the case and ignore it, as there is a very small subset of blades this would actually work on to give 150 shaves!"

"Buy one of these! Blade life up to 5 weeks easily. One small problem, blades still ok but once lubricant strip completely worn away you get a lot of drag from the holes at back of blade so don't expect to get more than 30-40 shaves realistically "

Razorpit rocks bells
"My shaving system of choice is David Somerset oil and a Gilette Fusion blade. I find that I usually need to replace a blade after about 5 days, so a 4 pack lasts me 20 days. At £8 for 4 blades, that's not cheap, and anything that can help extend their life has got to be good news. When my Razorpit arrived, I tried it out on a blade that I was about to replace. I'm still using that same blade, and my Razorpit arrived a week ago. It doesn't feel like a new blade, but it's still got a couple of days left in it yet. I reckon starting with a new blade, I'm easily going to get 2-3 weeks of happy shaving out of it. This thing is going to pay for itself in no time, and I really recommend it."

Best thing I have bought in ages
"Ok, so I unwrapped it and thought it was just a very expensive rubber razor holder. I then tested it with some old, blunt Gillette Fusion and Sensor blades..and err..well it works!! The blades are very much sharper and gave a very good shave as good as a new blade. I would urge other wet shave users to try it as it will save you a fortune in blades and I shall certainly be buying them as presents."

I purchased the sharpner a couple of weeks ago and as soon as it arrived I looked at it and thought what a rip off But I used it first on an old blade a gillett Fusion that had been used about 6 times and so far I have had about 7 shaves on it and it really does work. "I had been reading the reviews on the web and couldn't decide whether to risk the 20 odd quid for this. Decided to give it a go and would write a review - good or bad - for others like me who were unsure. Using Gilette Mach 3 razors as does my flat mate. He has a thick bristly growth - mine is more wiry. He shaves every other day - I grow a beard for 2 weeks and then shave. I normally get 3 uses out of a blade if I am lucky then it starts to tug and cut me. Flat mate struggles to get more than 5 shaves.Bought it on 28th June 2010 - we both put new blades on when it arrived. We are both still using those blades. I've had 5 shaves and he has had at least 20. It's great and has already paid for itself.It's not a scam - buy one.I just bought cheap Asda Smart Price foam for use on it as I prefer to use gel on my face - prevents the clogging issue."

Sceptical at first BUT....
"I was very sceptical at first. I tried a Razor Rescue from easylife but it was useless. Ended up sending it back as it actually made the blades feel blunter. When the RazorPit arrived I wondered if this very simple bit of kit would work but it honestly does. I used to replace my Mach 3 Turbo's after a week but now my blades last around 5 weeks. I don't personally believe the 150 shaves claim but I'm still very very pleased. I just hope the product lasts a long time...."

"Received the product and fast i might add despite the postal strike I use the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium with the battery op trimmer First thoughts were nice razor holder if nothing else I tried it the first time and didnt really see any effects the second time i applied some pressure as per instructions and it really did work i change my blade once a week and shave everyday now been using the same blade for the 3rd week and use the Razorpit every morning I havent had a shave like i have every morning since i shaved against the grain which i stopped due to ingrown hairs GREAT BUY only question is how long will it last"

After using the RazorPit I noticed no difference to the blades at all. "First off this does not sharpen your blade. Dont know why this site claims it does the packaging clearly states that it just cleans your blade.So does it work. Somewhat. It does appear to stretch out the life of my Fusion blade a little while longer but was getting a fairly good life out of the blades by using good quality shaving cream and rinsing the blades well after use.Ultimately it can only clean one side of your blade and there is the problem.Considering the price of blades it doesnt take long to pay for itself.Not bad product but no miracle either"
Razorpit - still tryinng to decide if it works.
"I bought a couple of Razorpits about 7 weeks ago. One for each of my houses. I am still evaluating but I'm increasingly doubtful of the benefits. It seems to extend the blade-life a little. Perhaps two weeks instead of one but beyond that I seem to be finding the blade becomes less sharp quite quickly requiring a lot of pressure on the face to get it to do a semi-decent shaving job. I don't say it's completely useless but I think the hype surrounding it is much exaggerated."
