What would you say is the ethos behind the Milk brand?
We believe that we offer very good quality products at accessible prices that deliver their promises. We’ve created simple, functional, easy to use products that look good in the bathroom.
What inspired you to launch a range?
I felt that male grooming was a growing market in Australia and overseas and there simply wasn’t a lot of choice for men out there.
What product are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of our Milk face moisturiser + SPF 15 as it’s the product that we built our brand on. Designed for Australia's harsh climate with the average bloke in mind, it’s multifunctional, effective and widely available throughout Australia and now it’s in the UK too! |
What are your top health & fitness tips?
My biggest health tip is balance and consistency. I'm a firm believer that in life it's all about having a balance between work and play and scheduling regular exercise in your lifestyle - whatever it may be: running/cycling/circuit training as long as it's intense. We should also drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep and look after our skin and bodies and if you usually stick to this regime then you won't feel guilty if you have a beer or two or some chocolate!
How do you choose the ingredients in your products?
We are very spoiled that in Australia as we’re surrounded by amazing nature from which we try and source as many ingredients as possible, from the sea-kelp of the coast of King Island to Kakadu Plum from central Australia. We work closely with our manufacturers to ensure the key ingredients have special qualities and complement the products. |

Can you give us an insight into any other new products you are working on?
We are in the final stages of developing an ultra hydrating moisturiser, which is really exciting. We have come up with a formula that will pleasantly surprise our customers - it'll feel like you’ve splashed a refreshing glass of water onto your face... stay tuned!
Finally, what does it feel like to win a Gold Medal in the Olympics?
It gave me a great sense of accomplishment and reaffirmed that all the years of training and devotion to the sport were certainly worthwhile. There aren't many words I can use to describe standing on the Olympic podium with the national anthem playing, but it’s only the icing on the cake as I feel, and it might sound like a cliché, that the most rewarding part is the journey is the life values and lessons you learn along the way. |
