Easter is falling early in 2016, which means that we get to celebrate in March. Even though it’s tradition to eat enough chocolate to fill a bath tub, here at Mankind we’ve decided to celebrate a little bit differently. We’ve concocted a list of our top 5 Easter cocktails so you can mix it up and enjoy your bank holiday weekend. Blood Orange Blackberry Sangria
Taking around 15 minutes to make, the blood orange blackberry sangria is amazing for a party. With a combination of fruits including strawberries, blackberries and oranges, this Easter cocktail is fruity and flavoursome making it an absolute must-have to try. Make it in a massive jug ready for everyone to share during your relaxing bank holiday weekend. This recipe will make enough for the entire group to enjoy (and then some!).
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 2 cups sliced strawberries
- 3 cups blackberries
- 3 oranges cut into wedges
- 1 lime cut into wedges
- 1 lemon cut into wedges
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup triple sec
- 2 cups sparkling apple cider
- 1500ml fruity red wine
Method:
Add all of the strawberries, blackberries, oranges, lemon, lime and cinnamon sticks into a large pitcher, jug or bowl. Pour in the sugar, triple sec, sparkling apple cider and red wine, giving it a stir until the sugar has almost dissolved. Pop the mixture in to the fridge for 4-8 hours, even though you can drink it after two hours, it tastes a million times better the longer you allow it to sit for a while, letting the flavours infuse even more.

Toblerone Cocktail
If you’re looking for a chocolatey Easter cocktail as an alternative to your eggs (or those delicious avocado brownies!) then the Toblerone cocktail is the one for you. This is almost like a dessert with chocolate sauce, honey and hazelnut liqueur; there’s no doubt about it – this cocktail is incredible.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 shot hazelnut liqueur
- 1 shot Coffee liqueur
- 1 shot Irish cream
- 2 parts Cream
- 1tbsp Honey
- 1tbsp Chocolate sauce
Method:
To make the Toblerone cocktail, begin by garnishing the side of your glass with chocolate sauce and honey, followed by filling your glass with ice. Add the hazelnut liqueur, coffee liqueur, Irish cream and cream into a cocktail shaker and for extra sweetness, you can add a dash of honey and chocolate sauce. Shake it up, strain into your glass, add a few chocolate flakes on top and enjoy!

Mexican Michelada Cocktail
The Mexican Michelada cocktail is a little bit different but just as tasty none the less. These spicy Mexican beer based cocktails are guaranteed to be love at first sip and perfect to switch up your Easter cocktail menu!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 2 limes
- Sprikle of sea salt
- ¾ cup chilled tomato juice
- 1tsp soy sauce
- 1tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1tsp chipotle hot sauce
- 4 bottles a dark Mexican beer
Method:
Begin by cutting one lime into quarters and use one quarter to moisten the rims of your glasses, take the glasses and roll the rims in coarse sea salt until coated. Cut 4 thin slices from the remainder of the lime to garnish the glasses and set them aside. Combine the juice of the limes, tomato juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce into a small bowl and stir well until mixed. Finally, pour the mixture into the glasses and top up with dark Mexican beer. Enjoy!

Spring Fling
To get in the zone for Easter cocktails, the spring fling is the way forward. This cocktail is sweet, fresh and the ingredients alone define spring. You may think it sounds a little too fresh and fruity, but the use of raspberry cocoa and agave nectar make this cocktail rich and flawlessly fitting in to Easter!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 part raspberry liquor
- 1 tbsp Cocoa Nibs
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- 1 tbsp agave nectar
- Mint sprig
Method:
This cocktail is incredibly simple to make. Add ice, to the combined raspberry liquor and cocoa nibs, alongside the agave nectar and lime juice and pour into a cocktail shaker. Shake it up, strain into a fresh rocks glass such as the Final Touch On the Rocks Glass and serve immediately. The smell is so delicious you won’t want to wait anyway.
Raspberry Burst
Our final Easter cocktail is the raspberry burst. This is easily the most extremely refreshing cocktail we have mentioned, so it’s definitely worth a try! With raspberries, mint and a citrus tang included in the recipe, it’s bound to put a spring in your step and welcome Easter accordingly!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 shot vodka
- 2 parts citrus flavoured soda
- 3 fresh raspberries
- 5 leaves fresh mint
- 1 lemon squeezed
Method:
Begin by muddling raspberries, mint and lemon juice in the bottom of a mixing glass, then add the vodka and some ice in to a cocktail shaker and shake like your life depended on it. Strain into a highball glass over ice and pour in the citrus soda. Stir it gently, garnish with fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint and your raspberry burst cocktail is ready to be enjoyed.
