Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the most well-known football players in the world, however did you know he also has an incredible fragrance range? We met with Zlatan recently to discuss everything about the range, and what makes it different.
Who is Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, originally from Malmö, Sweden, is a footballer for Manchester United Football Club. He was born on 3 October 1981, and since then has become one of the most well-known names in the world, not just the sporting industry. His fragrance range currently consists of 2 lines, the self-named male scent Zlatan, and Suprême, which boasts both a male and female fragrance. Zlatan aims to conquer the world with his range, and after smelling it, we’re sure you’ll agree.

- Question: As a sportsman, what inspired you to create a fragrance?

Answer:
It was not my purpose or meaning to enter in the fragrance world because I knew nothing, it was something different. I met two fantastic people who presented the project for me and they were super confident that we would conquer. That we would make the difference. And I feel there was some kind of match, sometimes you just feel it. I was like, “Okay, lets try it”. And now a couple of years later, I can say everything they said was right. This wasn’t my initiative, it was more the team I work with, but they were super confident and it’s been a big success. I’m super happy.
- Question: We know you’re involved in the fragrance, why is this important?

Answer:
I’m involved 100%, because when I do something I want it to be real. I want to feel involved and confident that I can stand behind it – make sure it’s quality. I don’t put my name on something just to sell, and make money. I don’t need money, I would still eat. This is a challenge for me, it’s a new world, and I’m learning every day.
- Question: What makes your fragrance range different from anything on the market?

Answer:
I think it’s real. It’s not made in a laboratory house where you’re not involved, and you just give the responsibility to someone else and you don’t smell it until you get the sample. I’m going through the process, ensuring every fragrance has a story. The first one is my world in Sweden, to Paris. The second one is more summer feeling, the ocean, when you walk along the beach and have freedom.
- Question: Who is the range designed for?

Answer:
It’s for everyone. It’s not specific areas, like football fans. It’s for everybody. It’s independent from what I’m doing in my professional work, it’s got nothing to do with that, this is a new world. I’m taking over, I’m happy. I’m super happy.
- Question: What made you decide to make both a male and female fragrance?

Answer:
When we made the first one, there was a bit of complaining from the ladies asking “Why didn’t you make a female?” and I was like, “Everything is new so we wanted to start with a male one.” Then I spoke to the team about the next one, and they agreed with the initiative that ladies should have the same possibilities as the men. And that’s what we did! The result has been amazing! It’s great to give something real and quality to the ladies also. With the team, we approved the results. I’m lucky!
