Festivals are always big news as soon as the warmer seasons come around, and with California’s most famous festival Coachella kicking off proceedings last week, we’re even more excited for that all important time spent in the middle of a field with our mates, live music and beer. But with festival season comes a whole host of questions, mainly this one:

What should I take to a festival?

Now, we’re not talking basics here. You know you’ll need a tent, some money and, of course, your ticket. But what should you pack? Well, firstly you need to make sure you keep relatively clean during your brief stint as a professional tent dweller. In the absence of running water and a shower to call your own, you’re going to have a settle for some wet wipes. Proving they’re not actually half bad, we love these Ole Henriksen Truth To Go Wipes which work to remove dirt and grime whilst also containing green tea and rose water to calm the skin. As well as those, you’re going to need to pack some deodorant to ensure you at least smell fresh for the duration even if you don’t feel it. The Molton Brown Sport Anti-Perspirant Sportstick is perfect because it contains an anti-perspirant active that keeps your underarms free from sweat and odour, whilst also having a zesty fragrance of nutmeg and lime.

Now that your personal hygiene is covered, it’s time to think about everything else. You can’t go the best part of a week without brushing your teeth, and this black Marvis toothbrush is an absolute bargain. You can always rely on your mates to forget something too, so this three pack of toothpaste will be the perfect accompaniment to it! It also goes without saying that here at Mankind, we know a thing or two about what it takes to look good. And while we’re not suggesting an entire grooming routine is necessary at a festival, there is definitely a few things you can do to keep yourself looking your best over the course of the weekend. The Matrix Design Pulse Dry Shampoo is great, as it refreshes your hair without the need for water, working to absorb oil and add volume. And if you’re really determined to look your best, check out this post on our top 5 male concealers which are sure to cover up any pesky blemishes or unsightly spots.

Now that you yourself are taken care of, you’re going to need a few other things to keep you safe. A phone case, like this Ted Baker one, is great because it features a handy slip pocket design and will fit most smart phones. A waterproof wallet, like this bright yellow one from Rains, is also a good idea as it will keep your money safe and dry (always a must!). And last but not least, you will need a bag to put it all in and this Mi-Pac Classic Backpack is ideal, as it boasts a strong and sturdy design whilst still looking good.

So that’s it for our festival checklist! What’s on yours?
