Brilliant hold, no shine
"For every person who has hair that likes to do it's own thing, then this will finally keep it under control. I had been using paste before: that left a rather unsightly greasy look. However, this fiber seems to have better hold, as well as no shine, so it looks as though your hair is naturally easy going. I am utterly impressed with this product, and it is completely different to other 'fibers' on the UK market. Buy this and you won't be sorry."

Worth every penny
"This product may be expensive for what it is (face it you can get gel and stuff for a couple of quid) but it is worth paying for. It works well in my hair which is fine and in need of a lift. It is easy to use and has a really good smell. I wouldn't say it gives a natural look but it's as close as I've ever come to one. Definitely worth the money."

Strong holding with no shine
"At first I was reluctant to pay any more than a couple of quid for any hair styling product. Having taken the plunge I can say American Crew Fiber is without doubt the best styling product I've used in the 15 years since I first used hair gel. With only a small fingertip amount it holds hair strong, and without that horrible wet greasy look that so many other products seem to have. The best part is it washes out without leaving any residue. Worth every penny."

A great product
"Having loved everything about Paul Mitchell 'Dry Wax' (especially the smell), this stuff just beats it. It gives the same hold, is matt-er and washes out of your hair/off your hands much better than PMDW because it's not based on Microcrystalline Wax. Not too sure about the smell, but it's hardly overpowering and no-one's going to notice that when your hair looks this good!"

Great hold, great smell, no build-up
"I find this works best with hair that has been towel dried as much as possible, but not 100% dry like after using a hairdryer. It smells of citrus/lemon which is really refreshing, and for guys with thick hair like me, which makes it difficult to hold a style, it manages really well. Must be said though, if you use it and your hair is too damp it doesn't do much. Also find that it washes out really easily, even without shampoo."

"I bought this product many many moons ago. When I opened it and smelt it all was going well...then I tried to use it and hated it. Problem is I hadn't used it before and I never knew how to. I used other stuff after it, but would always leave it looking wet or just not the way I wanted; because my hair is very thick and hard to style. So I used this stuff once again....and this time after a little bit of experience was able to use it to perfection; and it really does do the trick even on my hair. Which is saying something! Doesn't give it a wet greasy effect which is great and very easy to use. Will definitely buy again."

Very Effective Product
"Being more than double what I normally spend on hair styling products, I was unsure if American Crew Fiber would live up to my expectations. After using it for a few months, I now struggle to justify buying anything else. It performs extremely well when styling and lasts throughout the day - my hair now survives the crowded and sweaty commute intact! It smells good, doesn't leave my hair greasy or too 'heavy' looking, and easy to wash out. The only reason it doesn't get 5-stars is it's performance when dealing with longer and more unruly hair. For me, it works best when hair is short to medium in length..."

Good but not my favourite..
"Bought today and used immediately when I got home. Applied to towel dried hair, as instructed on product, and instantly fell in love with it. Can get any style and it makes my hair look superb! Excellent control and matt finish. Is good for choppy hair, but not good if you have your hair flat on top and up at the front - I'll stick to Fudge Hair Shaper. Not so good for hair longer than 3 inches - best use Fudge Hair Shaper for that length."

Excellent, but one quibble
"I started using this product about two years ago and really use nothing else to style my greying hair now. It is a great product, at least on my hair it is, but there is one minor quibble. The actual texture of each jar I've had is rarely the same twice in a row. It can be VERY stiff sometimes, and at others be more easily applied. My current tub in my bathroom has the softer, easier-to-use consistency, while the jar in my gym bag is much stiffer. So in that way the end result can be slightly variable, hence only 4 stars. If this variation were to be sorted I would give the product 5 stars, as even with this gripe it is still the best styling product I have ever used on an otherwise hard-to-tame barnet."

Still searching...
"This is a great product with a gorgeous smell, but still won't work for me. I have very 'heavy' hair that is fairly short, and if I wet it at all (no matter what product I put on it) it will not 'stand up.' The only way I can do it is if I put product on my hair when it's completely dry, and even then I have to apply loads. This product is no different in that respect - therefore a tub isn't going to last me very long at all. Shame as I really wanted it to be the product that worked for me."

Severely over-rated
"I found Fiber's performance rather disappointing given all the overly positive reviews displayed here. I had hoped that this would be the product that could finally keep my unruly hair under control, alas no. In fairness Fiber does offer moderate hold, which I suppose would be sufficient for those whose hair doesn't naturally offer much resistance to styling. If, however, you have hair that has a tendency to do it's own thing despite having laboriously styled it, then this is not the product for you... Also, I don't think Fiber warrants such a steep price tag - 'Fish Paste - Hair Putty' is a far superior product - provides greater hold and control, is not greasy, 'matte finish', smells very pleasant - and is a third of the price of Fiber!"

Not so good 4 fine hair
"I've read the reviews here, and took onboard my hair dresser's comments about this product. Smells good, but I have very fine hair which got dried out quickly by the product. Also, it's durability and hold factor wore down as the day went on. As my hair's fine, this product was very "touchy" if you put too much in, it created build up and gave the impression of having smeg in your hair; too little and it looks like any other low value wax/pomade. Sorry, but it doesn't do it for me."

Deeply Disappointed!
"Hey Guys, what can I say....A regular user of all types of hair waxes, creme's, putties and pastes, AC Fiber was a big disappointment indeed. Left my hair sticky, unruly and straw like!....I think I'll go back to Fudge hair shaper which is far superior...A waste of a tenner in my opinion."
